Meet Dr. Richard Frieder.
Dr. Richard N. Frieder was born in Santa Monica, California and grew up in the Los Angeles area. He graduated from Hamilton High School after which enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served active duty in the South Pacific and Vietnam. After being discharged, he enrolled in college and graduated with a B.S. in Physics from the University of Southern California. Dr. Frieder earned his doctorate of optometry at Los Angeles College of Optometry, graduating with honors in 1971.
   After graduation, Dr. Frieder worked for a number of years at the Linden Optometric Clinic as director of contact lenses. In 1973 he moved his family to Mission Viejo and founded La Paz Optometric Center. Dr. Frieder is experienced in all phases of optometry and specialized in fitting difficult contact lens cases. Currently, he spends a great deal of his time administrating and marketing the center. His goal is to provide patients with the best and most comprehensive eye care possible.
   Dr. Frieder joined the Mission Viejo Rotary Club in 1975, and has served as the clubs international chairman several years to current. Dr. Frieder has been involved with humanitarian projects in India, Colombia, and Mexico. He spends much of his time working the Door of Faith Orphanage in Baja providing eye care, as well as, food and supplies for over one hundred children. He also works with many of the social workers in Orange County to help supply needy families with necessities to survive.
   Dr. Frieder enjoys spending his leisure time exercising, skiing, traveling, and listening to music. He has been happily married since 1969 to his wife Susan. He has three wonderful sons, Dustin, Adam, and Stephen. He has two grandchildren: his grandson Ethan and his granddaughter Sydney.
